A fruitful harvest for Gandiva Archery Club  
 
 

Mandaue City, Cebu, Gandiva Archery Club bagged several awards in the most recently concluded
“1st Cebu Open Archery Tournament”, last April 29 – May 2, 2010 in Aboitiz Reclamational Park, Mandaue City, Cebu.

About 175 archers from the different archery club in the country including the big names in the archery industry like Mark Javier, Jennifer Chan, Kit Cojuangco, Amaya Paz, Fermin Barrenechea, Karl Achacoso, Earl Yap and Elijah Bismark gathered together for this prestigious event.

Representing Gandiva Archery Club (GAC) were Michael Santi – President of Gandiva Archery Club, Kimberly Ong – Vice President, Val McArthy Depro – P.R.O., Chris Leslie Palmos, JV Cootauco, Romnick Balmeo, Christina Santi, Finley Delos Santos and Celeandro Antonio Lujero. Also present in the event were the management and staff of RASA PREMA INC. led by Krstina Bismark, Quinnie Cabuguason and Amorell Tindugan.

Despite the extreme heat of the sun and long hours of competing, GAC emerged victorious when its members won in the different categories.

PALARONG PAMBANSA 2010 kick-off with a blast
 
 

Tarlac City, An estimated total of 10, 000 spectators, coaches, government officials and athletes flanked at Tarlac Recreational Park in San Jose , Tarlac to witness the much awaited sporting event of the year, the Palarong Pambansa 2010.

Students from private and public schools both from Elementary and High School division from the 17 regions of our country will compete in 17 sports discipline namely: archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, football, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and tennis.


 
 


In support to our beloved sport, Archery, Gandiva set-up some tents for the participants and on-site archery store to help archers with their needs. The stage of Victoria National High School was also decorated with tarpaulins for the awarding ceremony. Gandiva also provided a water dispenser for refreshements.

Gandiva team were composed of Mrs. Nops Galang, Quinnie Cabuguason, Amorell Tindugan, Liezel Galang, Jigs Padilla, Romnick Balmeo, Ronnie Daquioag and Ryan Balmeo.

This annual event was hosted by the City of Tarlac under the leadership of Gov. Victor Yap with the cooperation of Smart Philippines under Business tycoon Mr. Manny Pangilinan and the Department of Education led by Sec. Mona Valisno,. Also present in the event is Sec. Jesli Lapus of DTI.

Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila - On Thursday, February 25, 2010, the inauguration of the 1st ever All In Sports Expo 2010 was held. The event was presented by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and organized by Global Link MP Events International, Inc. The entire Gandiva and Rasa Prema crew were in full force to be present in the occasion on the first day, and the full support gained immediate attention to the roving audience who got a hold of a bow and tried archery for themselves. The Guest of Honor during the ceremonies is the PSC Chairman Harry Angping, and former and present PSC officers were in attendance, such as distinguished former Olympian and Chairman Eric Buhain. Known to have hosted popular athletes and sporting events in the Philippines, the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila holds witness to the gathering of 10,000 athletes and a few thousands more for the All In Sports Expo 2010, which was held for 4 days from February 25-28, 2010 from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and with other athletes from various sports vying in different competitions all over the complex.

During the expo, various national sports exhibition for wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers were featured to give customers and athletes unlimited access to the best sports equipment, gears, accessories, products and services. Gandiva was also part of the selling and exhibition of the expo, and former national team members Krstina Bismark and Quinnie Cabuguason, and active players Tim and Elijah Bismark looked on as curious citizens tried to hit the targets on a makeshift range created outdoors. The event was overall embraced by the naturally-athletic and sport-loving Filipinos.
